Beginner Question: Selecting Paint Brush Color

Recommended Posts

I sure wish there was a manual. :(   How's that coming?  Love the application and so happy I don't have to do business with Adobe.

I'd like to know how to select a color for the paint brush tool.  I see the eye dropper icon, but am unable to get it to work in selecting it for either the background or foreground color.  I'd like to use the paint brush to change white balance issues on a very selective basis.

Thanks in advance for any feedback.

To use the eyedropper just left-click and hold the eyedropper, then drag over the desired area where you want to get a sample from for your color. You can also drag outside of the Affinity Designer window and get a sample from anywhere including apps on your desktop. Useful if you want a sample from a picture on the web. Once you have found the color sample you want, let left-click go. The color chosen will appear in the color well next to the eyedropper, to apply the color just click that color well. Then paint away!
