Highlighting colors in palette does not work for certain colors.

Usually color swatches in a palette get highlighted if an object with the assigned color is selected. This does not work with colors that were added to the palette with the command 'Create Palette from Document'. I append a document that explains the issue in detail.

I am not sure if this is a bug or a strange design decision 🙂

now that you mention it I took a closer look at the colors sampled from the document. Indeed they are a little bit off. Good to know that you have it on your list already 🙂
