SarahB
I need to create a lot of hyperlinks in my document, many of them using source text which is in a bulleted list. If I select the source URL and paste that into the target URL field in Insert/Hyperlink, the bullet is copied too. I can delete the bullet and space from the URL field, but that is a PITA for the number I have to do. Any ideas?
walt.farrell
What application are you copying from? And how are you copying the URL? If I were copying a URL from LibreOffice, for example, I would right-click on it and choose "copy hyperlink location". I would not select the text and copy that, as it would include formatting such as the bullet. It's almost funny and ridiculous but obviously true that the bullet of an APub text style gets pasted there, too. – Feels like a bug. More strange: You even can't paste it without format because this command becomes grayed out when the Hyperlink Properties window gets opened. So, as a workaround, instead of deleting each single bullet in the URL text fields it may be more efficient to copy all URLs first in a separate frame (no bullets) and copy the single links from there. Or, maybe more simple, copy/paste the entire text frame + assign a style without bullets + copy/paste the links into their property fields, then delete the frame copy. 'Copy hyperlink location' isn't an option and nor is 'Paste without formatting'. As far as I can see, my only option is to Copy (which includes formatting), Paste (which retains formatting) and delete the formatting manually. 11 hours ago, thomaso said: It's almost funny and ridiculous but obviously true that the bullet of an APub text style gets pasted there, too. – Feels like a bug. I agree that it feels like a bug - there should be an option to exclude formatting either when you copy or when you paste. Thanks for the workaround idea but the URLs in bulleted lists are a minority, albeit a large one, of the 400 or so hyperlinks I have to create.
