Fonts disappearing

On Designer 1.8, I have a bug that causes fonts to disappear, especially downloaded fonts. If I have used a downloaded font in a file, when launching the file, the whole text will now be in Arial and my downloaded font won't appear in the font list. Doesn't happen every time, but it's often enough that it bothers me..

Welcome to the Serif Affinity Forums, @Stanulrik.

Affinity Designer won’t know whether the font was added to your system via a download or by some other route. Do you happen to know what types of font are misbehaving? It’s possible that the app is treating Type 1, TrueType and OpenType fonts differently.

Hi @Stanulrik

We just iterate through the list of fonts in Windows, so nothing should be disappearing. Do you use any form of font management system on Windows? That maybe causing issues.

Are you able to get a screen recording that shows the font not appearing in Designer whilst still appearing in the Windows font list? If possible could you attach an offending document and the fonts it is using to our internal Dropbox using the link below please:

I’m facing the same problem with my ipad pro 2018 version, my current ipados is 13.6.1

All font installed disappear when I’m trying to change font styles.

From the description and screenshot in your new thread, I think your problem is a different one:

On my iPad I see a white round-cornered rectangle on top of the black rectangle, and I can select a different font from the list displayed there.
