1. Cover the canvas with a white rectangle

2. Apply a Gaussian Blur effect to the rectangle

3. Rasterize to mask

Or...

  • Select the erase brush tool (E)
  • select a textured brush such textured brush mask 02 from the mask brush set
  • and click on one corner move the brush cursor to the next corner, hold shift and click to get a straight brush line
  • or just brush the edge over until you have an edge you like.

I'm not sure how to get this to work.

I can't seem to select the rectangle I want to apply the brush to. The assistant adds mask layers, but I don't know how to work with them. The brush just does nothing to anything/everything.
