SCRWyatt
The following strange patterns have been appearing for me in developer since updating to 1.8.4. I use Mac OS 10.13.6 They come and go as I change settings, move the picture around or zoom in and out. My images are from a Lumix GH4. Please see attached screenshots. Old Bruce
Hi and welcome to the forums @SCRWyatt, I am assuming that these are from RAW files from the camera, and are in the Develop Persona in Affinity Photo am I correct? If so could you post a raw file for people to check. In the meantime you could try changing from whichever RAW engine you are using by going to View > Assistant Manager ... and then choosing Develop Assistant ... I believe you will have to restart the Application for the change to take effect (could be wrong about that though). I have never mastered color management, period, so I cannot help with that.
SCRWyatt
Thanks Old Bruce, Yes they are RAW files in the Develop Persona. Are these different RAW engines within Affinity? Here is one of the files. P1160081.RW2 Edited August 23, 2020 by SCRWyatt
Old Bruce
I opened your file and had no sign of anything like you report. I am running OS 1-0.14.6 and have 64GB of ram so it may be down to your machine specs. If you develop the image are these things still happening? 15 hours ago, SCRWyatt said: Are these different RAW engines within Affinity? Yes, they can be accessed by clicking on the little 'tuxedo' or going to View > Assistant Manager. Staff MEB Posted August 24, 2020 Staff Share Posted August 24, 2020 Hi @SCRWyatt, Welcome to Affinity Forums Can you please attach a screenshot of you Mac Specs please (menu Apple > About This Mac)? Leave the serial number out or disguise it please. Then go to Affinity Preferences, Performance section and untick Enable Metal compute acceleration - it should fix this issue. SCRWyatt
Thank you all for your help. Here is a screenshot of my specs and I shall try Old Bruce's and MEB's suggestions. My mac has not had any issues running Affinity in the past.
Staff MEB Posted August 27, 2020 Staff Share Posted August 27, 2020 Hi SCRWyatt,. Thanks for the Mac specs. This is indeed an issue related with the graphic chip. Please go to Affinity Preferences, Performance section and untick Enable Metal compute acceleration - it should then work correctly for you.
