Asset menu > Embed in current document

According to the Help I tried to embed an asset to the document but it appears not to work. After adding the asset + saving + closing the document, the asset still appears in another document, too, never mind. Now, when deleting the asset there (I want it only in its initial document) the asset seems to be deleted also in the initial document, where it was supposed to be embedded. Instead this initial document, after re-opening, shows an indifferent marker: "–". When I click the – symbol it turns to the usual 'ticked' symbol but the asset doesn't appear. – Where got it saved to? Got it saved at all?

The Help says:

Quote

Embed in current document—embeds the assets in your Assets Panel into your current document so that they can be accessed when opening the document later on a different computer (or on the same computer if assets were deleted). On opening a document with embedded assets, you're prompted if you want to import assets to your Assets Panel, making them available to all documents.

This is the menu after re-opening the document were I expected to have the "embedded" asset, note the "–" symbol:

This is the menu before + after I was adding an item to the asset panel, and also after clicking the "–" symbol after re-opening the saved document. But still no asset in the panel.
