Affinity photo - strange behaviour with affine filter

Recommended Posts

I want to create tiled texture, to do so, I need to use the affine filter, but the filter does unexpected things (see screenshot).

Is-this a bug ? (or I missed something)

Thanks you in advance.

OS: macOS Catalina
Affinity Photo version: 1.8.4

Does your texture image have an area of white border around it, outside of the bounds of the document?  Before you try the affine transform, try right-clicking on the layer with your texture (in the Layers panel) and selecting "Rasterize and trim..." - then perform the affine transform and see if that white gap disappears.

Try @kirkt's suggestion of rasterise and trim. I would presume you opened an image (diagram/plan?) then cropped it to a square ratio? In which case you have pixel information outside the current canvas bounds—usually you would see the rest of the image, but in this case it appears to be solid white that was perhaps cropped away.
