Live filters not showing

Recommended Posts

Hi there,

I’ve just bought Affinity photo for iPad (2020 12.9"), but, if I add a filter from the studio filter menu, I don’t have the bolt icon to create a live filter.

Any suggestions, please?

Thanks in advance

Cheers

Alessio

At the top of the Filter studio menu list there is a toggle Add Live Filters. Tap that and you are good to go.

Does that work for you?

Thanks, it works. I was watching the tutorial about filters and he showed a ‘bolt’ icon I didn’t have.

That tutorial was for an older version of Affinity, maybe...

Also some of the tutorials are for the desktop version and can become a bit confusing when you are working in the iPad version. They don’t have the exact same features at times or are placed and accessed differently.

The official tutorial I watched was for iPad, he was using a 2017 model

Only some of the filters have Live versions. Perhaps there's only a "bolt" icon if the filter you're using offers that option?

Context menu Lightning Bolts were replaced by a Live filters switch in Filter main menu several iterations ago. I can confirm that not all filters are 'live'.😀

Affinity Photo 1.10.5 Affinity Design 1.10.5
Affinity Publisher 2, Affinity Designer 2, Affinity Photo 2 and betas.
