avoid hyphenation at auto hyphenation

Hi,

does anybody has experience with the following features in Publisher?

• how do I avoid a single hyphenation if auto hyphenation is activated?
• Does affinity has supports soft-hyphen?

Also you can add a non-breaking hyphen at the beginning of the word -> Ctrl+Alt+-

That's Ctrl+Alt+Shift+-

But it inserts an actual hyphen at the start of the word. If the purpose is to suppress automatic hyphenation within that word, use a Tab instead of a Space in front of the word.

Interesting. It is definitely Ctrl+Alt+Shift+- on my system, and it does insert an actual hyphen. It also suppresses the auto-hyphenation, but I can clearly see the hyphen.

Yes. Retail has the shortcut you showed.

Interestingly, though:

• The shortcut won't actually insert that hyphen for me, though using the menu does insert it. (On Retail; either method works on Beta.)
• Both Retail and Beta show that hyphen when I insert it. As I mentioned above, it does suppress the automatic hyphenation, but the inserted hyphen is always visible (as I would expect).

The soft hyphen does work as you suggest when added to the front of the word. It is invisible and suppresses auto-hyphenation within the word. The non-breaking hyphen does not work at the beginning of a word, as it remains visible.
