Lemonsprig
Hi, There appears to be an issue with text wrap around multiple .svg images whereby the text wrapping settings of a second placed image is either ignored or only partially applied. The issue does not occur if a .png is used instead. This can be observed in my last post in the thread I am running on windows 10 with the late and AP 1.8.3.641 Thanks,
Staff Gabe Posted July 20, 2020 Staff Share Posted July 20, 2020 Hi @Lemonsprig, I logged the issue where the wrap applied to the master group breaks the already existing wrap inside a child group. If you attach the SVG you used for that original file, we can have a look and see what's going on. Wee have had some issues in the past caused by transparent areas in SVG, and this might be related to that.
Lemonsprig
Hi @Gabe, Thanks for logging this. From what I can tell it seems to happen anytime I add more than one .svg file. I have attached a couple to this reply. If I change one of the files to a .png they will quite happily co-exist with text wrapping. Staff Gabe Posted July 20, 2020 Staff Share Posted July 20, 2020 Hmmm... it seems to be fine on a new document here. Can you replicate it on a new doc?

Staff Gabe Posted July 20, 2020 Staff Share Posted July 20, 2020 You're using a different SVG here(Clock3) and not Clock2. But I'm not entirely sure that's the issue, as I could see it being wrong with your previous document. Any chance you can attach a screen recording of your workflow? I feel like I'm missing a step, as I can't replicate it from scratch.
Lemonsprig
Hi Gabe, Sure I can give it a go. I have not done a screen recording before is there a particular way you would recommend to go about this? Regards,
Staff Gabe Posted July 20, 2020 Staff Share Posted July 20, 2020 You can use Window's built-in feature: https://uk.pcmag.com/operating-systems/86044/how-to-capture-video-clips-in-windows-10 , or you can download a 3rd party app: https://tinytake.com for example. Free for recordings up to 5min, which should be enough
Lemonsprig
Hi Gabe, sorry for the delay I got busy in work. I am however at a complete loss, as in trying to prep work out the how to screen record, i went through the steps but no matter how often I have tried to re-create the issue it now appears to be working correctly. Which is completely baffling as i know I am doing the same steps, including that as used in the document earlier. Which was simply 1. Drag out a text frame 2. select text -> insert > filler text 3. Select place image -> navigate to and select first image (sometimes this gives the icon to drag out the image, othertimes it places it inline, in which case I unpin it) 4. With image selected select text wrap, change to square and set a 3mm border on all sides 5. Select place image -> naviate to and select second image 6. With image selected select text wrap, change to square and set a 3mm border on all sides I will go through the process again a little later as I have done the same a number of times over the last few days and encountered the issue, So I have no idea why it is behaving now. I will pay attention to the process and if it occurs again I will let you know and try and get a screen recording.
Staff Gabe Posted July 21, 2020 Staff Share Posted July 21, 2020 I wonder if it's an extra (small) step somewhere that changes the whole thing. Please do let us know as it is something we would like to get fixed.
Joachim_L
I more than curious to see the file Clock3.svg. Maybe inside is some kind of box information missing as it wraps only a small "amount"? Although Clock3.svg is missing the wrap behaves weird, if you use "Edit Wrap Outline" on this object. Lemonsprig
Hi @Gabe @Joachim_L, I think I have started to get somewhere with this. The particular issue seems to actually occur only when I am using clock3.svg. It was happening with another image but I changed that and overwrote it and I think this had led me to think it was happening for all .svg files. I spent a bit of time last night swapping different images in and out and I am happy that it only occurs when using clock3. both clock3 and clock2 (and most of the other images i have used) are screen captures using the windows snipping tool, which are then opened in Affinity Designer with a black stroke applied to the image to provide a border. I have attached a copy of clock3 to this email but as the base image is essentially a .jpg there is not much to see when looking at the underlying xml, although I am no expert so you might see something different. I was only exporting as .svg as I thought it would help with file sizes and scaling, although as this is not a complete vector image I am not entirely certain it would make any difference. Joachim_L
When I am removing the defs-part in Clock3.svg and place again, text wrap behaves normally. <defs> <image id="_Image1" width="191px" height="164px" xlink:href="data:image/jpeg;base64,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"/> </defs> Quote ------ Windows 10 | i5-8500 CPU | Intel UHD 630 Graphics | 32 GB RAM | Latest Retail and Beta versions of complete Affinity range installed
