lafasta
Does anyone know how to create pointed corners with the pencil /pen/ brush tools on a single stroke? I'Ve tried many different settings with no luck. The corners are always either round or square. See attached video for an example of what I'm trying to do. Staff Dan C Posted July 15, 2020 Staff Share Posted July 15, 2020 Hi @lafasta, Apologies for the delayed response here! Using the Pencil Tool in designer, you should be able to draw pointed corners - are you having trouble with this? If you're using the Pen tool, you may need to change the Join type to Mitre Join, then increase the Mitre limit depending on the thickness of your curve and the sharpness of the point - I hope this helps Quote Please note - I am currently out of the office for a short while whilst recovering from surgery (nothing serious!), therefore will not be available on the Forums during this time. Should you require a response from the team in a thread I have previously replied in - please Create a New Thread and our team will be sure to reply as soon as possible. Many thanks! lafasta
IMG_0088.MP4 I tried with the pencil tool and pen tool. Neither are making the pointed corners. When I use the pencil tool they look ok when drawing then the corners change when I lift my pencil and are weirdly shaped. See attached video. Alfred
Your video shows smooth nodes, indicated by circles. The mitre limit is only going to affect sharp nodes (indicated by squares) so you need to convert the affected nodes accordingly. lafasta
So are you saying I need to select each node individually and manually change each one to a sharp node? I’m drawing using the pencil tool so that would take a ridiculous amount of time. The pencil tool automatically creates round nodes. Is there a way to automatically make each node a sharp node? No. With the Node Tool chosen and the pencil line still selected (or reselected) select all the nodes and change them in one fell swoop.
