Forcy
Hi, I recently bought affinity designer and I'm still learning the shortcuts. But something I really miss from using other editors is being able to duplicate the document you're editing onto a new one. I've looked on the forums for a way to do that but I've found nothing. Is there a way to duplicate the page you're editing onto a new document instead of opening a new document and copy;pasting the contents? Alfred
Welcome to the Serif Affinity Forums, @Forcy. There’s no one-click way to do this, but you can avoid the separate ‘new document’ step as follows: 1. Select all the layers in the Layers panel 2. ‘Edit > Copy’ 3. ‘File > New from Clipboard’ Forcy and thomaso 1 1 Quote Alfred Affinity Designer/Photo/Publisher 2 for Windows • Windows 10 Home/Pro Affinity Designer/Photo/Publisher 2 for iPad • iPadOS 16.7.2 (iPad 7th gen)

This way, if selecting artboard(s), I also can achieve a new document which includes the initial artboard(s) – instead of just 1 artboard which contains the selected objects and is limited to their dimensions. The artboard selection may also be done in the documents window with the Artboard Tool. This works fine for me on my Mac except that when I use File > New from Clipboard, in the document window initially it looks like the new document is not divided into artboards. Selecting any of the artboards in the Layers panel fixes that (cosmetic?) defect. The artboards in my original new from clipboard artboards test.afdesign document: The new doc as it opens in a new document window when selecting artboards 1 & 2 in the original: It does not seem to matter what the size or position of the artboards are, what they contain, or how many of them I select as long as it is more than one of them. Does anybody else see the same thing? But I guess it's just a redraw-issue. When I switch to the Artboard Tool and click on one then I get the expected separate artboard appearance.
