Hi.

I'm a novice in the computer world, so please bear with me!

I purchased the Affinity Photo and Designer from AppStore when they were released.
I keep reading about downloading beta versions in addition to the purchased ones (?)
What did I miss. Do I have to do that, or can I just wait for an update?
I'm just getting to know and playing with the excellent software (for a long time ahead) now.

Hi Madame,

Using the beta versions is only necessary (in my opinion) if you want to test them and give some feedback to Serif about what works and what not or if you have a very important work to finish and you are stuck with something broken in the MAS release but corrected in the beta.

Otherwise, the AppStore versions are perfectly fine.

Cheers

Hi Madame,

The Beta version is a development version where all new features get implemented first for testing purposes. All additions to it will end up in the Mac App Store version as soon as they are stable for production work. Although the betas usually don't cause trouble, there's no need to install them if you are happy with the Mac App Store version.

Thank you, MEB and yakk! :)

Then it's like I thought it was. Still developing and testing.

As it is, I'm very satisfied testing what i purchased. :)
