SteveRoberts
Just purchased AF and AD. As part of the purchase, I received some free textures. However, I cannot figure out where to store these, how to load them, and with which app they are compatible. Thanks for any assistance you can provide. Staff Lee D Posted July 6, 2020 Staff Share Posted July 6, 2020 Textures are usually a collection of image files that can be used within our Affinity apps. Generally you just need to store them on your system until you want to use them. You can then use File > Place and select the texture and click ok. FWIW, another sometimes interesting way to use them is as a bitmap fill applied to vector objects. It is helpful if the texture can be tiled seamlessly. For example, the attached AD Pic Frame + texture file.zip includes a Pic Frame.afdesign file plus a "low rez wood tile.png" one created in Filter Forge. The wood tile png is only 400 x 400 px but by using the AD Fill Tool & its Extend: Wrap mode, a lot of different variations can be applied to a scaled up version without much loss of quality.
