Possibly a change occurred with the forums software update a while ago? At least it affects uploads: I get its –200 error message more often and need to run screenshots (jpg) almost always through a "optimizer" (ImageOptim.app) to prevent –200.

When I started posting at this site in 2017, attached JPEG and PNG images were not stripped of their profile. If an image was larger than some limit (such as 1000 px wide or whatever it was), the comment would include a reduced size preview with no profile which linked to the full size image with profile, otherwise the comment would include the full size image with profile. For at least a year (possibly closer to two years) now, the forum software has been stripping the profile from the full size image, not just a reduced size preview.

Thanks, interesting info. I assume in the sake of reduced data amount?

This change is a pity because in particular with Affinity apps color may need to be looked at and thus visual profile influence + knowledge about used profiles (if look does not work) can be useful for the forum and make judgements less ambiguous and support easier.
