Tazintosh
Hi folks, I love the realtime preview of fonts on my text element while hovering the font dropdown. Still, the bounding box of the selected text can be quite obtrusive, specially when dealing with small sizes. This prevent to clearly get an idea of the font look actually displayed. Would be nice to hide the bounding box as you do while picking a color, set a stroke width, etc. for example. Cheers!
Staff MEB Posted August 3, 2015 Staff Share Posted August 3, 2015 Hi Tazintosh That's a great suggestion. I will raise this with Dave Harris (he's the expert on Text tools/typography) Thanks. Tazintosh
Hey MEB, Any news from Dave? :)
Staff MEB Posted January 25, 2016 Staff Share Posted January 25, 2016 Hi Tazintosh, I don't have yet enough info to know if this will be implemented or planned (hiding bounding box controls). It's a common request but only the devs know for sure. The only things i can suggest it to reduce the bounding box controls size going to Affinity Photo/Designer ▸ Preferences, Tools section, and changing the Tool Handle Size, and pressing Spacebar to temporarily hide the bounding box when working with objects (although this will not work when one of the Text Tools is selected obviously). Staff Dave Harris Posted February 19, 2016 Staff Share Posted February 19, 2016 We've made some changes in this area for the 1.5 beta. We hide the handles while typing, or in the live previews. I've also made it easier to select text that's close to a handle.
Tazintosh
Thank you MEB for following up. Dave, excellent, I'll test this as soon as possible.
