Busenitz
I have a Silhouette Cameo digital cutter and though their software is "nice" I would much prefer to do my designing in AD and then be able to transfer the design to the Silhouette Studio software. I am able to import SVGs, but I'm having problems, and since this is new to me, I'm probably doing something wrong. If I make a design in iDraw and export it to svg, it will import to Silhouette Studio fine. But if I make the same design in AD, it imports without the bitmap fill, and is only a fraction of the original size. Any help would be appreciated, except PLEASE don't tell me to use iDraw just because it works. LOL I LOVE AD, just want to be able to do more with it. I'm uploading screenshots of both iDraw and AD, plus the exported SVGs, and screenshots of both SVGs imported into Silhouette Studio. Again, thanks in advance, I'm guessing it is some setting I'm using while exporting, which I haven't figured out. AD.svg iDraw.svg
Staff Leigh Posted August 3, 2015 Staff Share Posted August 3, 2015 Is it possible to attach your .afdesign file to this thread?
Busenitz
I am uploading a sample afdesign file, as well as the svg created from AD. I also copied the items from AD into iDraw and created an SVG from iDraw. I'm also uploading two screenshots of my cutting software. One has the iDraw SVG imported and the red shows the cut lines. The other shows the SVG created in AD. Thanks again for any help! The cutting software is ok for basic design, and iDraw is better, but AD would be hands down to be able to use for design!affinity.svg iDraw.svg <Large file removed>

superhaschi
not a solution, but a workaround: choose pdf export in AD and you can open the pdf in Silhouette Studio (DE) in correct dimensions Busenitz_.pdf Quote MacOS Big Sur AD + AP + APub
Busenitz
Thank you SO MUCH, Superhaschi. I'm somewhat embarrassed to admit that after using SSDE for several years, I didn't catch on that you can import PDFs. Thought I had to work through the SVG option. This is WONDERFUL! fernand0n
Thanks guys. I was having the same issue and this topic has helped me. Now, this problem should have been fixed by now. It's been over a year already.
