Lothar_SA Posted May 15, 2020 Posted May 15, 2020 If you copy a word or some letters within in a paragraph with bullets, the bullet and tab is always copied too. Inserting it in "Search and replace" you always have to delete the bullet and the tab. I also noticed, that the bullet will be updated to the hyperlink style, if the first word in the paragraph will become a hyperlink. I think, this is a bug too. I am using Windows: 10Pro: Affinity Publisher 1.8.3.641 Quote

Lothar_SA Posted June 6, 2020 Author Posted June 6, 2020 Hi Gabe, it is not a standard behaviour at all, neither in Word or Indesgin and not even in Affinity Publisher itself. Maybe there is a misunderstanding: If I want to search for a word I mark and copy it: I paste it in the find form and this is the result: There is no way to paste the text without the bullet and tab, at least I couldn't find it. CTRL+ALT+SHIFT+V doesn't work. If it would be a standard behaviour, it should paste the bullet and tab also when I paste the word into another sentence in publisher, which it doesn't. But pasting it in an email or any other text editor, you get the bullet and the tab. No other word processor I know behaves like this. Even if it would be standard behaviour, it would not make any sense in this case - if I mark a word that I am Iooking for it is obvious, that I never look for this word with a bullet and tab in front of it. About the style update of the bullet - looks like the bug was addressed in the last update, didn't check it until now. A_B_C 1 Quote
A_B_C Posted June 6, 2020 Posted June 6, 2020 You are right, Lothar. It should by no means paste bullet + tab + [search term] in the search field. 😕 Alternatively though, you can simply select the search term in your text frame and use Text > Find … (Cmd + F). This will only paste the search term to the search field. 😀 Quote
Lothar_SA Posted June 6, 2020 Author Posted June 6, 2020 Thanks for this tip - it helps a lot.! A_B_C 1 Quote
Staff Gabe Posted June 8, 2020 Staff Posted June 8, 2020 Sorry. I completely missed the "Find and replace" bit. I thought you were taking about normal copy/paste between text frames. You are right, when you paste it in the find and replace, it should not paste the bullet point. Issue logged A_B_C 1 Quote
