I've just purchased both Affinity Photo and Affinity Designer, I'm new to the I pad Pro and using a stylus, I've been sketching the old way with pencils and paper up until now.

With Procreate, Autodesk sketchup and Adobe Fresco, you can have perspective grids which your pen snaps to, can draw self straightening lines, lines, have guide rulers, French curves and ellipse guides. None of this functionality seems to exist on either of the Affinity packages.

Am I missing something? will these features be added in the future? esp since they are on other free packages. As an application the GUI is smart and professional, the brushes work well, the layers work well, I want to use Affinity for my work, but I can't at the moment.

Hi Jonny,

Welcome to the forums :)

The lines should already self straighten to a degree but you can improve this with the stabilisers found on context tool bar. As for french curves and ellipse guides unfortunately these are not available however you should be able to make a perspective grid and have your pen snap to it. To do this go to View > Grid Manager then setup your grid the way you would like then go to View > Snapping Manager and make sure snap to grid is enabled. You should also be able to enable rulers by going to View > Show Rulers.

Thanks
