  1. Hi Nathan, Lindon, I've just gone into the PerformancePreferences.xml files for both photo and publisher and change UseHardwareAcceleration>True</UseHardwareAcceleration> to UseHardwareAcceleration>False</UseHardwareAcceleration> as you recommended. Appears to be working fine now. Thanks for your help.
  2. Hi Nathan, Lindon, No luck, I've disabled Norton 360 Auto-Protect and Smart Firewall, un-installed photo and published, downloaded the latest versions and re-installed. Updated my graphics card driver (AMD Radeon R9 M280X) I have a HP ZBook laptop, it's been quite good and reliable.
  3. Yes It's just starting happening to me with photo and publisher, a few days ago. Both have been working fine since I purchased them around Christmas time. Both photo and publisher start to load, the little start up picture comes on the screen, then it just bums out. Thanks 054b5827-1a48-4ae3-8cd2-8641db0fce46.dmp 73041fb2-7dd6-418e-be37-816ee056aff6.dmp 8470afbf-33e8-4f34-b90b-4675d95e39f5.dmp 8f6ca637-a80e-4d3b-a7ee-69dfd79038b4.dmp 0f39a01b-d4fe-4eab-af00-4a446e9af7fb.dmp 0df4b8c1-ad20-45f6-97a0-f54073b33dd0.dmp 622b18fe-8b4f-4645-95b8-1cad94c741e4.dmp 54184f1d-d3e1-40a1-9a05-65c5a2c335fa.dmp
  4. Thank s everyone for helping me, I'm super busy at the moment, hopeful I can read through all your advice and figure out what I'm doing wrong over Christmas.
  5. I have a Xerox VersaLink C600, newish and full of toner. Printing with colour management document and printer both on sRGB IEC61966-2.1 Printed images are awful, dark, drab and very red, nothing like my photos are showing on Affinity Photo I know printing stuff is a big tricky and it's not a fault with the software and I haven't read up on Affinity or done any tutorials, but I though I'd throw the question out there in case I am doing something stupid and there's a quick fix or someone has had the same problem and solved it. So, just added this bit, if I print a JPG photo taken on my bottom of the range Samsung mobile by double clicking on a file in windows file manager and clicking on "print" it comes out wonderful, as show below. And if I try and print a photo off my new (too expensive) canon D90 camera using Affinity, my new state of the art photo editing software, the print comes out absolutely dreadful. And if I export a JPG from Affinity and print it directly from windows I just get a blank A4 sheet. Any help out there?
  6. I'm bought Affinity Photo and Designer for my IPad however I am still finding Adobe Fresco far better to use and Procreate as well. It might just be me but if some of the features like drawing aides, auto straight lines and perspective grids etc would be so helpful to make these apps more useful for the types of things I, plus many others do, like concept/industrial/mechanical design, sketching etc. I can't get my head around designer, it puts everything I do on a new layer.
  7. I was using Photoshop elements which had a nice organiser built in for organising photos and images etc. However now I've switched over to Affinity software. I have Affinity Photo and Publisher on my PC, photo and designer on my Ipad. I also have a copy of Canon's Digital Photo Professional 4 which is good for organising photos, but only seems to interface with Photoshop. Does anyone know an organiser for photos which works with Affinity Photo?
  8. Thanks for help all, I bought both Designer and Photo, both excellent, I expect Affinity will add tool for designers like in autodesk sketchbook at some point since so many people are raving about how good the Ipad/pen+tablets are for industrial/mechanical/aerospace design etc.
  9. Hi not the most interesting of photos, it's a decal for a 3D model. I've cropped the photo but when I go to mesh warp to square it up the guides are still the same size as the original photo. Also have you considered adding features like in Autodesk Sketchbook Pro and some of the features in Procreate, rulers, guides, ellipse tools perspective guides, auto straightening lines etc. Affinity Photo could be much more than just a Photo editor and have a much bigger customer base, designers like me for example. Thanks.
  10. Yes but it tries to resize the whole canvas and not the selected area and even if you reduce the canvas size it still snaps the anchors to the old canvas size, unless I am missing somthing
  11. I've just purchased both Affinity Photo and Affinity Designer, I'm new to the I pad Pro and using a stylus, I've been sketching the old way with pencils and paper up until now. With Procreate, Autodesk sketchup and Adobe Fresco, you can have perspective grids which your pen snaps to, can draw self straightening lines, lines, have guide rulers, French curves and ellipse guides. None of this functionality seems to exist on either of the Affinity packages. Am I missing something? will these features be added in the future? esp since they are on other free packages. As an application the GUI is smart and professional, the brushes work well, the layers work well, I want to use Affinity for my work, but I can't at the moment.
