When I import a PDF that has a font not on my computer it imports badly. I have tried to change the font in the pdf file to one that I have on my machine but it still changes the font in the import to something else. I have to turn it into an image I really would like not to have to do that. Can you help - ANYONE?

Currently you must have all the fonts in the PDF installed on your computer, to use the PDF with complete success in the Affinity applications. If not, yes, you need to turn it into an image.

You can also use 3rd party tools to convert fonts to outlines. If you're on macOS, the easiest way to do that is using Preview and printing the PDF in PS format (which you can then open in Affinity apps). On Windows, you can use Ghostscript, or Adobe Acrobat Pro, or e.g. PDF-XChange Editor free version (but this converts colors to RGB). If you need further instructions, please let us know whether you're having macOS or Windows version of Affinity apps.
