F J
I wound like to set Affinity as a file association with my camera format in Adobe Bridge. However, when I look in MS explorer under programs, Affinity does not appear. Can anyone help? Many thanks. F J
walt.farrell
Welcome to the Serif Affinity forums, @F J. Did you purchase Photo from the Affinity Store, or from the Microsoft Store? If you purchased from the Microsoft Store, the application is hidden away by Microsoft in a folder that you normally can't see. Unfortunately, beyond that I cannot help. Yes, the installation location is C:\ProgramFiles\WindowsApps\Affinity\... but that is a "hidden" folder for which you have to gain Administrator permission via the Security tab. There is a very useful utility TakeOwnershipEx which will allow you to access this folder (by changing permissions) and, after you have completed whatever you need to do, will also enable the resetting of those permissions to the Windows default. However, having done that and gained access I'm not at all sure whether this will actually allow you to set up the file associations you wished to do. anolddog
Maybe I misundstand your question but if you go to file associations in Bridge preferences you can add Affinity.exe (with its associated path) to any file extension. Bridge will then show Affiniti as an alternative to Photoshop when you go to 'Open with' on right clicking the thumbnail.
F J
I think Jeff is correct. When I browse associations in Bridge. Affinity Photo doesn't show anywhere in Windows Explorer. It must be in a hidden folder because it was purchased through Windows Store. Thank you for your advice.
