  1. I am developing my skills in photographing and compositing still life and am inspired by the watercolours of Shirley Travena. I would like to use DAUB brushes and paper within AF to apply a subtle watercolour style to my still life photos. Has anyone tried this and if so do you have any advice that may help me shorten my experiments? I have been thinking along the lines of pixel layers and blend modes and/or blend ranges to get the effect. Ideas and thoughts would be gratefully received.
  2. Just to update you all; and thank you for your interest in my question; I have just come across a video explaining clearly how to use the Assets tab in Studio views. Here is the link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aTnWyzcySaY by Olivio Sarikas who has made videos for the Affiniti Lockdown series. Some great vids on his YouTube channel.
  3. Maybe I misundstand your question but if you go to file associations in Bridge preferences you can add Affinity.exe (with its associated path) to any file extension. Bridge will then show Affiniti as an alternative to Photoshop when you go to 'Open with' on right clicking the thumbnail.
  4. Thank you Thomaso and Walt.Farrell for your prompt replies. I will try botha nd see which suits my needs best. Best wishes and good health.
  5. I would like to be able to search my own photos of textures held on a local drive on my W10 PC in a similar way that one can view and use stock photos. I have searched the Forum and training vids but can't see how to do it. The Library and Asset functions in Studio don't seems relevant here. In Photoshop one could have then in a panel just like the Stock photos are in AP and then drag and drop them onto the work area as a layer. Is there anything similar in AP that would allow this drag and drop approach?
  6. Lens profiles are not a problem in Affiniti if you are shooting M4/3 i.e. Olympus as profiles are sorted in camera. As for DAM software, Adobe provide Bridge free of charge if you have a free Adobe account. ACR won't be active but RAW can be edited in AF. Bridge will give you enough features to star and colour code photos and manage libraries. You can edit preferences to add Affiniti Photo to file extensions so that you can open a file in AF from the Open With... dialogue.
