Furazaka
Hi. I’m using the latest version of Publisher on Mac OS Trying to open a imdl file. Medium sized book. It takes over 20 min to open the file. It starts eating hdd space (more than 40 Gb). File always opens once the hdd almost runs out of space. Any suggestions? thanks!
Staff Gabe Posted April 8, 2020 Staff Share Posted April 8, 2020 Hi @Furazaka, Welcome to the forums. Can you upload the file on our Dropbox account? https://www.dropbox.com/request/Rb66tpZPicqrKVIKXfa7
gegagome
My moody Publisher file (or Publisher in general) is giving me this error message. I have plenty of space but Publisher just wants to hog up all of it. Any help would be appreciated
Staff Gabe Posted September 22, 2020 Staff Share Posted September 22, 2020 Hi @gegagome, If you upload your file(either here or on the dropbox link from my previous post here) we can have a look
carl123
I'm assuming this message is coming from Preferences > Performance (Disk warning usage at:) What do you have that setting set to? gegagome
these are my settings. The problem is that Publisher hides away my disk space and even though my file is 31mbs, Publisher tends to want to hog over 50gbs of disk space. Super annoying. gegagome
Also, saving (not exporting) takes a while too.
Staff Gabe Posted September 23, 2020 Staff Share Posted September 23, 2020 My guess is that it's resource related. I can't replicate it here with just the file. Can you zip them up and upload them on the same dropbox link?
gegagome
still not sure about this.... My Mac has a little bit less than 70gb of storage space. When I open this file in Publisher it begins taking up space like crazy, to the point that sometimes I get as low as less than 10gbs. I could close this offending file and the space issue continues even there is no open document in Publisher. Then I quit Publisher in my Mac, and voila, my storage is restored back to my precious <70gbs. Any ideas? Is there a way to package this file with its resources? Thanks

There is a package function in the latest beta, but not in the retail version. https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/forum/57-publisher-beta-on-mac/
