  1. @walt.farrellThank you so much for that link. I now can work in Spanish documents without copying and pasting accents. Thanks again!
  2. Hi there Can anyone please provide a definitive guide to typing accents (in my case Spanish accents) in Windows? On a mac it is pretty simple but the same isnt true using Affinity Publisher. Any ideas?
  3. Hi @Jon P I have added the resources to the previous issue linked to above in my first post. let me know if you want to add them again. They are around 100megabytes. thanks
  4. Yes, working Publisher and all assets, including Designer, etc, assets are also stored in Google drive. I have sent you the crash logs. Thanks
  5. Trying a windows version of Publisher and the file that opens fine in macOS won't even open in Windows. Basically the file takes a long while to load and then the Publisher windows disappears so it causes a hard crash/close. I am using Google Drive, and discovered that when I move the file to the desktop the document loaded fine and quickly. What the heck!? This is not ideal as I want to not worry about versioning etc. For reference I am also having a problem in the Mac file which causes my mac to lose storage space due to Affinity Publisher eating most of it away. Just when I close/quit Publisher the storage space is recovered and I can continue with my life. Any ideas?
  6. for reference this is an issue I started which has more information:
  7. Uploaded the file earlier. Let me now if you received it. Thanks
  8. hi Just made a package and the issue still persists using the beta. Can I get a new upload link? My package is a zip of size 160mbs Thanks
  9. @h_d just to clarify ID exports a txt file heavily tagged (which you have to tag yourself, not sure if there is an automatic tag function), enclosing text. You then replace this text file with the new one (or in my case translation) and feed it back into ID. This is one of the things I want Publisher to have as I often deal with publications in different languages. I find myself ridiculously copying and pasting text over from textedit to Publisher, either revised text or translations.
  10. hi @h_d thank you for your reply. My book is a manual which has bullets, two or three headers, paragraph, etc in the same page. In ID you can tag stuff and export it in a text document which you can feed back to ID. Is there an equivalent? I feel the solution you suggested doesn't work with my manual and its many paragraph and character styles within a page. Thanks
  11. Check this video. It shows Publisher's top bar flicking like crazy when it is saving. When will the upcoming 'package' feature be released? I'd like to know if I could wait to send you my complete project. Thanks Screen Recording 2020-11-18 at 9.00.04 AM.mov
  12. is this feature available in 1.9? Will data merge allow me to have different translations of content? For instance, I made a book in English which also has an equivalent in Spanish. And it will also be translated in more languages. Copying and pasting is too tedious as this is a 100 pages book. If data merge doesn't work for this does anyone know how to accomplish the above? Thanks
  13. Take a look at this video: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1m8OL4RColNk0LRiudKJ5-u7y1FtOrF_a/view?usp=sharing
  14. still not sure about this.... My Mac has a little bit less than 70gb of storage space. When I open this file in Publisher it begins taking up space like crazy, to the point that sometimes I get as low as less than 10gbs. I could close this offending file and the space issue continues even there is no open document in Publisher. Then I quit Publisher in my Mac, and voila, my storage is restored back to my precious <70gbs. Any ideas? Is there a way to package this file with its resources? Thanks
  15. these are my settings. The problem is that Publisher hides away my disk space and even though my file is 31mbs, Publisher tends to want to hog over 50gbs of disk space. Super annoying.
  16. My moody Publisher file (or Publisher in general) is giving me this error message. I have plenty of space but Publisher just wants to hog up all of it. Any help would be appreciated
  17. thanks for your reply The all caps issue is not exclusive to the file saving taking a long time. In fact recently that problem hasn't come up. The file saving (using command S or the save as command) still takes a very long time to save and that issue happened with the files I sent. Not sure if you can replicate it but it happened in May and also as recently as this week. Thanks
  18. Perfect! I had no idea you could drag over to the right of the thumbnail. I started using Publisher in May and I am having a blast. This mask thing was a thing I was not aware of. Thank you so much for the video I really appreciate it
  19. wow, I didn't know about the Vector Crop Tool. I had my pdf selected and after clicking on it it showed me exactly what I wanted; handles to modify my mask. Yay. For the record I tried 'use a similar rectangle ("Layer Clipping" in the help files)' but couldn't quite make it work. The above ^ works but if you can clarify how to make the rectangle work that'll be great as I think reusing existing shapes is more of what I usually do. Thanks again
  20. Thanks Just sent the file over. It is a previous version file that was causing this issue. Not sure exactly which one is the offending one though.
  21. Thanks for the answer I don't see the handles after following your instructions. I see them disappear as soon as I click on the mask layer icon. Also I don't see the little vector crop tool icon inside the Mask (Rectangle) mask layer. Not sure what's going on I also noticed you can't do the same when using a vector mask. Thanks
  22. Hi there Would anyone know how to edit an already existing shape mask in Publisher? I have a rectangle that is acting as a mask for an image. Suppose I want to modify the rectangle mask so I can expand/shrink it without affecting the actual masked asset, what should I do? My process is unseating the asset, which brings the image and the rectangle at the same layer hierarchy/level, editing the mask rectangle and then nesting the asset back into the rectangle mask. This is a little annoying and I was wondering what am I missing as this process tends to be a little lame. Thanks
  23. Hi there I tried sending this file over a private message but it won't let me. Thanks
