Panorama crash

I am using version 1.8.2.620. Windows 10. The panorama stitcher crashes after I click ok in the dialogue. It will load the images and stitch, but will crash the program when I click OK to bring it in.

 

This function worked great up until I tried it with newest version.

I did update to 1.8.3.641 and it is still exhibiting the same behavior. Crashes on OK after stitch in Panorama

I have un-installed 1.8.3 and installed 1.7.0 (last version I could find in my files) and it crashes also. Used to work. So not sure whats going on

Can you have a look in %AppData%\Affinity\Photo\1.0\CrashReports and see if you have any crash reports? I'd like to get someone in development to have a look if possible.

I still can't get the crash. I've tried it with 4 different groups of raw files. I have however asked someone to look a the dmp file.

Can you all confirm if the crash happens with a specific set of images (from the same camera) or whenever you attempt to stitch and then hit OK with any images from multiple cameras etc.

I tried it with two different cameras. I am using Fuji x-t3 and Fuji x-t1. Both crashed. Although now the stitched image appeared for a second before it crashed. I might go back and see if I have some Nikon images to test

Ok, I tried the pano with Nikon D3 files and it stitched them with no crash. Tried both jpeg and tiffs. So maybe it doesn't like Fuji anymore.

Can you attach a zipped folder with the Fuji samples? It would be a great help!

I can send some files but with further experimentation I tried a couple of different things. First I tried full size tiff files from x-t3. With 3 images it rendered the panorama. I then tried the same 3 images but added a 4th one. Program crashed. Next I took smaller jpeg files and tried 3 images and it rendered fine. Next added the 4th one and it crashed.

So it doesn't want to do more than 3. I did not have this problem previously. Hope that is of help.

I also went back and tried my Nikon files and it stitched a pano of 5 images. They were jpegs a little bigger than the Fuji jpegs that crashed at 4 images

I had this crashing problem, the same way freezing when you hit the OK button after you set the files up.

It was being caused by "Sage Thumbs" a 3rd party viewer for graphics files. After I unloaded it the problem went away.

Thanks for the images. I've successfully stitched them in retail and beta:

This is always frustrating (for everyone) when we cannot reproduce a bug. I'll let them know i have the images and see if they can identify anything.

It looks like there's a reference to Nvidia in the crash log. Can you try:

1. Preferences > Performance > Renderer > WARP
2. Updating your graphics drivers. Try uninstalling and reinstalling as opposed to updating over the top.

Ok, I changed the renderer to Warp. I was then able to stitch the fuji files. I will check my drivers next.
