Joachim_L Posted April 2, 2020 Posted April 2, 2020 There is unfortunately no result for "Unignore Spelling" inside the help files. I understand that "Ignore Spelling" is meant to ignore a spelling for a word on a per-document-base instead of pushing it into the dictionary. So "Unignore Spelling" would mean, that the word is not ignored anymore in a spelling check. So far so good. But this does work in all cases. See the attached images for example. First I ignored the word "veganes", the word "Veganes" in the second line starting with the upper V was still marked as wrong. So I right-clicked the word "Veganes" in line 2 and had suddenly the option "Unignore Spelling". If "Veganes" is the same as "veganes", why is it marked wrong? Hitting "Unignore Spelling" from "Veganes" removed the marking from "Veganes" and still left "veganes" untouched. You can try with different variations of writing the same word with the same result. But theres is one difference: Assuming "veganes" is the first word of line 1 and "Veganes" is the first word of line 2, ignoring the spelling works suddenly for both variations. So this could be a bug in the end? Quote ------ Windows 10 | i5-8500 CPU | Intel UHD 630 Graphics | 32 GB RAM | Latest Retail and Beta versions of complete Affinity range installed
garrettm30 Posted April 3, 2020 Posted April 3, 2020 (edited) I have noticed that the spell check system is just slow to react to changes, and maybe that is in play here. After you learn the word the first time (regardless of capitalization), if you go to the word that is still marked wrong, try adding a space after it and then deleting the space again. That might force Publisher to reevaluate the word. I think this behavior could be refined, because sometimes I am left confused by it. Edit: Oops, I didn't realize I was suddenly in the Windows forum. What I say above was from my experience on Mac. And while it may be true across both systems, I am not sure that it is, since the Mac version does rely to some degree on the builtin spelling of macOS.
