Assuming you're using Windows, the suggestions in this FAQ entry should help: https://affin.co/WinSetupFailed

@SteveL

Just to confirm: you have followed ALL the steps in that FAQ, including using the Microsoft Uninstall Troubleshooter?  This latter has proved to be the ultimate solution for a number of users but I accept, it may not work in your case, for some unknown reason.

How does it fail? And at what step in the FAQ? More details, please. ("Failed" is far too vague.)

If it gets as far as saying "Setup Failed", then what does the SetupUI.log file show?

Thanks Walt - "Setup Failure" each time ... I am now looking in to how I access the setup log (a mystery at the mo).

Now located the setup log ... but I'm afraid I can't make sense of it! (Attached)

Any advice extremely welcomed .... I will endeavour to contact Serif Monday .... in the meantime I am Publisher-lost

Thanks again

You're welcome.

Error: The older version of Affinity Publisher cannot be removed. Contact your technical support group.

Assuming you've followed the steps in the FAQ (reboot, run as administrator, etc.) you'll probably need to use the Microsoft Uninstall Troubleshooter that the FAQ mentions.

Edit: Oops. Cross-posted. Glad to hear it worked.
