TvL Posted March 20, 2020 Posted March 20, 2020 Hello, when I choose the in-painting brush tool for e.g., is there a way of deactivating it such as using the ESC key? It seems that once activated it remains activated. If I choose another tool then the in-painting brush tool is de-activated, but the other tool is and remains active. I am new to Affinity photo. I use a Mac under Catalina OS. Any replies are much appreciated. Thor Quote
Staff DWright Posted March 22, 2020 Staff Posted March 22, 2020 Hi @TvL, Welcome to the forum There is no option to deactivate a selected tool the best thing is to select the Pan tool shortcut H as this will not alter your photo if you click on it. Alfred 1 Quote
TvL Posted March 22, 2020 Author Posted March 22, 2020 Ok, thank you for your helpful reply. I had spent much time seeking an answer. Hopefully deactivation like in lightroom will be added in an upcoming update. Quote
firstdefence Posted March 23, 2020 Posted March 23, 2020 I use the Esc pressed twice to deactivate pretty much anything, such as the text tool, this prevents typing V’s in the text as you try to select the Move tool (V) I also use Esc Esc to deactivate a selected node such as when using the pen tool and I want to draw separate lines.
