Using Designer and Photo in Publisher not working

Recommended Posts

I looked forward to being able to stay in Publisher and yet use the tools in Photo and Designer. It is not working for me. I get a pop-up saying I need to buy the other two. I've already bought them and installed them. I also had all three apps check for updates and all three say 1.8.1

Is there something else I need to do?

On Macs, Photo, Designer and Publisher need to be in the top level of the Applications folder, ie not in a sub folder within the Applications folder or somewhere else.
And then try launching and then closing both Photo and Designer at least once on their own before using Publisher and StudioLink.

I gather this is no longer required. I just ran a test after quitting all Affinity apps & then putting AD & AP into a subfolder in the Applications folder. Initially, I got the 'need to buy' notice in APu, but after launching & quitting AD & AP, & then relaunching APu that notice did not appear -- switching APu personas worked fine.
