David Edge Posted March 7, 2020 Posted March 7, 2020 I've told my Mac to open all Affinity files in Publisher so I can use studio link. That means every time I open a document with artboards - ie nearly all of them - it threatens to convert them to spreads. Is there any downside to letting it just do this? And if so perhaps being able to tell AP to to ask every time would be a plan. Quote
walt.farrell Posted March 7, 2020 Posted March 7, 2020 Spreads/Pages operate differently than Artboards, and behave differently in the workspace, but only you know whether that will affect your workflow. Additionally, it's a one-way conversion. If you Open a .afdesign document that contains Artboards in Publisher, and convert them to Spreads/Pages, you can't go back to Artboards. But again, only you can know if that will affect your workflow in any way. Do you ever plan, for example, to send the file back to the full Designer application via File > Edit in Designer so you can use the Export Persona? If so, you may find that Artboards will work better for you. David Edge Posted March 7, 2020 Author Posted March 7, 2020 Ah! Thanks Walt. Export persona isn't something I need so I'll see if anyone else points out a problem and change over. ta d. Quote
Bryce Posted January 12, 2022 Posted January 12, 2022 The way to do this in 2022 is to open this in Publisher and go to your pages pallet and click convert artboards to pages. Quote
