Pixel art resize blurriness issues

Recommended Posts

I'm having trouble getting the same kind of sharpness when resizing pixel art downwards (to a smaller size) that I used to get with PS.

I did some research the general consensus was to use the 'nearest neighbour' setting in 'resize document'. While it's better than the default, it's still not great.
PS resize:

Affinity resize with 'nearest neighbour':

Clearly a lot blurrier. Has anyone figured out how to do this properly? It's really frustrating me.

Welcome to the forums.
Can you give us a bit more information about exactly what you are trying to do please?
For example:
* What are the dimensions of your original image?
* What dimensions are you scaling the image down to?
* How are you resizing the image? In other words, are you resizing a whole image, or an image within an image?
* If you’re not resizing a whole image, is your ‘child’ image at an exact pixel position in your ‘parent’ image?
* Why are you resizing pixel art? (That might sound like a silly question but I’m not a pixel artist so it sounds a bit odd to me.)

It is difficult to assess the relative merits of your two images without seeing the original.
