thomaso Posted January 22, 2020 Posted January 22, 2020 Tab key in value fields were already discussed quite a few times, mostly when they do not work to jump to the next field at all. But in Layer Effects the use of a tab has a very unexpected result: it always moves the cursor into the Layer Panel > Layer Opacity and changes that value instead of the next value in the current Layer Effect window. It is even more confusing because the UI does not show this tab key use, as e.g. with a blue highlight and a cursor, so it is done without visual feedback. thomaso Posted January 24, 2020 Author Posted January 24, 2020 I noticed that a tab key doesn't really move the cursor (or focus) to the Layers panel> Opacity. Instead, this field appears to be active whenever a layer is selected, but not an object that responds to number keys. This way a typed number key always sets the layer's opacity, regardless whether its field got selected in these situations. This feature for accessing the opacity of a layer without selecting its value field can be very helpful. For objects that 'normally' respond to the tab key, this ability suddenly becomes useless ... disturbing. Staff Jon P Posted February 25, 2020 Staff Posted February 25, 2020 The tab index of that dialog does seem to be doing interesting things, it doesn't cycle through all the items and jumps to some input boxes in the layers tab. I've logged this, thanks for the report Quote Serif Europe Ltd. - www.serif.com
