Separating Text Frames

In making my book, I began by placing a .txt file into Affinity Publisher and had the text auto-flow.   As I'm making adjustments, I want certain pages to stay still. Is there a way to unlink text frames without all the text disappearing?  In other words, I want certain pages to remain still and unaffected if I delete something on the adjacent page.  I know how to unlink a text frame but the content on the following text frames disappear?

Welcome to the forums.
If I have understood what you want to do correctly this isn’t possible yet – without manual copying and pasting – but it has been requested before. It sounds like something that would be useful to many people so maybe it will come in a later version.

As a start you could insert Frame Breaks to avoid getting text from another frame. Instead of deleting a linked text frame you could hide it or move it off the page.

Save your afpub file
Create a new afpub file
Place or drag/drop the other (just saved) file into the new file.
Go to resource manager and make embedded
Duplicate as many pages you have created in the old file
Select from the dropdown on the tool bar which pages(from the placed,old file) you want to show on the pages in the new file
You still can edit parts of the old file by the edit document button or double clicking the "embedded" layer,this will open in a new tab
But you can also rearrange or delete pages in the new file

Nice. I hope I am getting not so desperate to use this more-workaround.

+1 this feature. To elaborate, I think there are a couple of related capabilities I need in this category, maybe more. For starters:

1. Extract this Text Frame from flow and make standalone
2. Separate all Text Frames in this flow ("Unflow all" and make standalone Text Frames)
