noah Posted December 28, 2019 Posted December 28, 2019 I'm an occasional InDesign user who'd love to make the switch to Affinity. I tried the Publisher beta a year ago and it feels like it's come a long way in terms of usability since then, but I still haven't figured out the proper workflow for using master pages. The way I use them in InDesign is essentially as a template, so each spread would come pre-populated with some frames in reasonable locations. However, I find myself wanting to make lots of individual tweaks on any given spread, which necessitates: Finding the master object in the layers window Clicking "Edit: Detached" Making a tweak Clicking "Finish" This seems extreme in terms of the number of mouse clicks required, and is limiting/prescriptive in the workflow process. Am I missing something obvious? If not, I would love it if there could be a global "detached" mode, or at the very least, a key command that would enter detached mode for the master containing the currently-selected object. Quote
Catshill Posted December 29, 2019 Posted December 29, 2019 I came to the conclusion that detatching took more time than creating new body text frames on my pages. I do use heading boxes and of course page numbers on master pages however . Quote
