mnekow
When I have multiple tabs open and try to close the window, AP asks me for every file if I would like to save or delete the changes I made. The problem is that it doesn't show the file the prompt is for in the background, which is pretty misleading IMO. I have deleted changes from my documents multiple times because of this issue. This issue could also be solved if AP had an auto save feature. Why can't AP auto save at least every hour or two? walt.farrell
On Windows, Photo switches to the image that it's asking about, and the tab above the workspace has the file name available. Do you not see that? Photo does have an autosave function, but it is for emergency recovery after a program or system failure. By default it saves to a recovery file every 10 minutes, but you can change that via the preferences. Possibly an additional option to save directly in the file that is being worked on would be useful. I would need to leave it turned off, though, unless it was a file-specific option, such as "Save History with Document" is. Otherwise, for my most common workflows, an autosave function like this might risk destroying work. I do a lot of experimenting, and only decide at the end of the session whether I want to save it or not. In many cases I do not save the changes I have been experimenting with. mnekow
I just checked again, and the behavior of the macOS version is different: If I open multiple files and edit all of them, AP displays the warning first for the file that has been opened first, without switching to the file. I hope this gets fixed in a future version. Quote Affinity Photo 1.7.3 on macOS 10.14.
