One compelling reason to provide an export of the Resource Manager list is to make a list of photographs used for the purpose of submitting them to the (U.S.) Copyright Office. Not all the photos in the linked File Folder may be used, so that folder may not be a good choice to use to create the list. Ideally, the export will go into a CSV (for use in a spreadsheet) or XLS type of format or even PDF). I'm facing that problem now and have over 800+ photos that I have to manually sift through using the Resource Manager as a basis (eyeballing the list is overwhelming).

The 1.8 beta has a "Collect" function in the Resource Manager that lets you create a folder containing a copy of all the linked and embedded images or documents in that Publisher document. As those are the ones actually used you could use that function and then just look at the files in your new folder.

Note, though, that even the Resource Manager listing may not be complete. It won't include any images or documents that you may have included (linked, or embedded) but that you subsequently rasterized.

then back down to the current released version?

Applications work in parallel.

You just need to be careful not to save your work data with beta versions, because then the released version may not open it.
