The personas (Resolved)

Recommended Posts

Greetings,

After watching a few videos on Affinity products, I purchased Photo & Designer today... However, I now read on the forums that the Studiolink function allowing you to seamlessly switch between them is only if you own publisher... Ok, maybe i was confused about the persona thing or it wasn't well explained in the videos - but the whole reason I picked up designer & photo was to avoid the dreaded round trips (exporting, importing, exporting, importing - yada yada yada).

With that said, is it possible to get a refund? I don't have a need for publisher and If I have to round trip every time I want to switch between Photo & Designer, I may as well use other programs I have installed already.

Your help on this would be greatly appreciated

Welcome to the Serif Affinity forums.

If you purchased directly from Serif (not from Apple or Microsoft via one of their stores) then you have 14-day return policy, which you can exercise by emailing affinityreturns@serif.com.

But even without StudioLink, it's easy to switch between Photo and Designer. If you're in Photo and need a Designer function, File > Edit in Designer will get you there. If you're in Designer and want to get to (or back to) Photo, File > Edit in Photo will get you there.

You should post this in the section of the forums “Customer Service . . .”    Probably with a topic heading about requesting a refund.   Serif does make refunds if the request comes within their established time window.   Meanwhile, should you reconsider, having Publisher as well is really superb.  The StudioLink ability between the three apps is simply wonderful, and the “dreaded round trips” are a thing of the past.

Thanks Walt,

I've tried your suggestion and it works great -  Now I don't need to worry about gen loss after a bazillion round trips (all is good in the world now).

Hi jmwellborn

Ya, I should've posted in the correct forum and use a different title (I'm sorry about that - been pulling a 47 hour crunch thing, should've gone to sleep before posting). Walt's suggestion worked out nice - However, I'm looking more & more at Publisher and you're right - I'm just gonna get it for the extra feature sets.

With that said, hope you two have a great weekend and thanks again.

-Terry

PS: I'll rename the title if I can and add "Resolved".
