Hi, Im struggling with the workbook tutorials, well not the tutorials the blasted downloads. on p88 there is https://affin.co/photocoreskills

then on p89, developing raw images the {resource box} has exposure_adjustment.ORF

There are no green pages just pink, using https does download a zip file that dosent enclose the resource box items, getting sick of this. unless I can sort it theres going to be an Unused book on ebay.

Your page numbers may well be different from mine (or other users), @drkwackz1.

So, for example, that's page 86 and (I assume) 87 in mine.

From page 86 you would download photo_core_skills.zip file, and unzip it. That will give you several directories.

On my page 87 (your page 89) you're in the section titled "Developing Raw Images". If you look at the directories you unzipped, one of them is named "Developing Raw Images". That directory has the files/resources you need for working on that section. So when you do the File > Open just navigate to that directory, and pick the file the book wants you to use.

As you progress along you'll next get to the Cropping section (use the Cropping directory), the Inpainting section (use the Inpainting directory), etc.

I hope that helps.

You said in your original post that you went to https://affin.co/photocoreskills and it downloaded the zip file. You just open the zip file (on Windows, just double-click) and extract the contents to some directory on your computer. Then you navigate through the contents using either File Explorer or Finder.

do I type the download in as youve typed . as that maybe why im struggling ?

To start the download, type the URL exactly as it appears in the book in your browser's address bar, including the leading http://. Do not type it into a separate search bar if your browser has one. If the address & search functions are combined into one bar (like with most current browsers) just type the URL & press return or click on the 'load' button or do whatever your browser uses to load a page -- do not select anything from a 'suggested links' dropdown list or anything like that.

I am not sure what you mean about green or pink pages but there is no web page content so this should immediately start the download of the zip file. If you see any page content like a list of suggested websites or a 404 page not found error then double-check that you have entered the URL exactly as it appears in the workbook & not initiated a web search by mistake.

Once the download is complete, do as Walt said to unzip the file, navigate through its contents, etc.

If you are still having problems, let us know if you are a Mac or Windows user & which browser you use.

how do unselect a tool without selecting another,

You don't. You always have a tool selected.

The View Tool (H) is the most innocuous.

Im am struggling to download the resource files identified in the new workbook.

Every time i enter the resource name under https://affin.co./exposure_adjustment.ORF i get an error message

Can you assist me in getting the resources i need tomutilise the workbook

That is not a file you would download. You would download a .zip file as instructed in the book, then unzip the file, and exposure_adjustment.ORF would be in one of the unzipped directories.

For more information, please see the first two posts in this topic.

For me, the first link is not working -- no error but the DL does not start -- but the second one is.

What am i doing wrong as this is getting very frustrating

Make sure you enter them exactly as written, and make sure you are entering them in the address bar of your browser, not in a search field in Google or another search engine.

It might help if you have us the exact error message, and a screenshot.

Did you correct @POutneyBoy's typo?

afin -> affin

edit: Note: The post above no longer contains links, in case this conversation confuses future readers. They were probably removed by a moderator, as the links are only supposed to be known to purchasers of the workbooks.
