[FAQ: Problem + Workaround] Crash when scrolling/panning around document

Description of the issue:

When moving scrolling/panning around complex/image heavy documents the app can crash.

Recipe:

1. Load a fairly complex document
2. Scroll/pan with the document open

Other Notes:

We struggle to consistently reproduce this in-house, but have heard of multiple users with this issue. If you encounter it, please embed all images into a cope of your file and upload it to this link so we can use it for testing and further attempt to consistently reproduce this issue

Known Workarounds:

Unfortunately there are no known workarounds in 1.7.3 but 1.8.0 will fix this problem (and 1.8.0 beta builds are already available at this time, see below).

We have made fixes/improvements to this area (Crash when scrolling/panning around document) of the program in the latest customer beta. If you would like to try these changes the beta software is available in the forum posts listed below.

The latest beta builds are downloadable from links at the top of each of these beta forum posts.

• Affinity Photo 1.8.0.555 for Windows
• Affinity Photo 1.8.0.165 for Mac
• Affinity Designer 1.8.0.555 for Windows
• Affinity Designer 1.8.0.2 for Mac
• Affinity Publisher 1.8.0.556 for Windows
• Affinity Publisher 1.8.0.556 for Mac

These betas install parallel, next to the release version (they do not overwrite your release) and so the fixes can be tried in the beta without affecting your normal workflow in the release version.

Once these programs have been through a full beta process the change will be released in a future free 1.8.0 update/patch to all customers.
