Determining size of objects on screen and when printing

Recommended Posts

I set up a page in Designer and adjust page size to 10x10”. I set up a Standard Grid with lines spaced at 1”.  This displays correctly on the page. Now I draw a Rectangle around 4 squares i.e I now have a 2” square on my canvas. :)

Now in navigator studio I set view to 100% and for some reason the displayed square measures 4” (with a ruler over screen), surely it should measure only 2”? :o

If I set the navigator studio view to 50% the 2” square now measures 2”s (shouldn’t it display at 1” i.e 50% of 2”.) O.o

To further complicate issues when I print my 2” square and measure the square printed on paper, it measures only 1 5/8” not 2” as drawn. :S

This is already logged with the developers as a bug, I believe it's due to the iPads native 2x DPI so I'll bump the report with your thread now.

I've tested printing the same document at 72, 144 & 300dpi - in all 3 instances the 2" square printed at 1 5/8". I'm not certain for the reason of this and something certainly doesn't seem right. I'm going to be investigating this further and logging bug(s) as appropriate.

Thanks for bringing this to our attention :)

Please note -

I am currently out of the office for a short while whilst recovering from surgery (nothing serious!), therefore will not be available on the Forums during this time.

Should you require a response from the team in a thread I have previously replied in - please Create a New Thread and our team will be sure to reply as soon as possible.

Many thanks!
