I just wanted to let everyone know that Monotype, the creators of FontExplorer X, told me via a tweet that they definitely have Affinity products on their radar for integration. This is really good news, however as with all software development they have not been able to provide a timeline. I recommend that everyone who wants font activation and enjoy using FontExplorer X as much as I have over the past 10 years, should contact them and let them know there is a huge community wanting auto font activation. It's such a pain to do it manually. See below. @nathan_ford @monotype This is definitely on our radar, and we agree that Affinity apps are impressive. Thank you for your input, Chris! 2/27/20

It would help type designers a lot to have a folder that not only automatically activates the containing fonts, but also replaces the typefaces in the documents when replacing the font file in that specific folder. Like Adobe has it. The process of testing fonts in publisher is very frustrating at the moment. There seems to also be a strange font cache behavior that just doesn't update fonts unless restarting the software.

Tell me please, will Affinity support variable fonts in the near future? I am a developer of similar fonts. Thanks!

After messing with photography, editing and a little bit of design work I finally got AD and I absolutely love it. I do a lot of marketing and design stuff for my band but there's a certain limit to what I can do before I have to source it out. I'm slowly finding my bearings and am looking forward to learning more and developing in the realm of an amateur graphic designer. Here's a couple of simple ones I recently did just to get a hand of a few techniques. Comments and criticism welcome!
