Howdy, now that you offer a universal license, are there plans to offer a single universal download as well? I've always been miffed a bit that all three programs are sharing about 500MB of DLLs (most of all libpersona) which are basically identical (modulo code signing). It would save owners of a universal license a fair bit of disk space and especially a lot of time downloading and installing updates if you could merge all three programs into a single installer which installs only a single shared copy of those DLLs (and other shared files). Note that I'm not asking for a kind of Uber-Affinity that melds all personas into a single program (which I gather would be a major undertaking and probably a UX nightmare). I'm fine with having separate Photo.exe, Designer.exe and Publisher.exe, but would like them to access a single shared copy of libpersona and friends.

So, I posted elsewhere the problems with new installer . The SO CALLED option to install to another drive is terrible. Look that the MESS of a directory it creates It is important for a lot of COMPANIES and WORKFLOWS to have correct directory structures. The inability to INSTALL the APPS where you want is a massive problem for a lot of us in the GRAPHIC DESIGN world ( particularly in FILM ). I create graphics for movies and CONTRACT to many companies. I have had two notices this morning to stop using AFFINITY file formats and migrate to AI and EPS only. This is due to the NEW INSTALLER and they do not want to USE V2 because of it. Many of the companies and scripts and backups and a very strict workflow based on where things are and was the reason i was given. I just got away from finally use of ADOBE software. Now i have to start a SUBSCRIPTION again. This is a two fold issue in my case. FIRST off, I now need to spend more more money and go back to ADOBE . Two the companies are not PURCHASING V2 of AFFINITY Software ( one of the companies alone has 35 seats of the software ) .So now I have to output money for ADOBE and AFFINITY if i wish to keep using it. I love AFFINITY Software. Never had any complaints about what they have done or where they are going. BUT THIS IS A BIG SCREW UP in my eyes. We DON'T use ANY software that doesn't allow us a choice on where to INSTALL. PLEASE SERIF for those that are reading this and listening, Please give us the choice of the old installer and keep the users. Hope to hear something soon. Gary

Hi there, I tried up update Affinity Photo from 1.9.0 to 1.9.1 last night, but I had an error show up during the installing stage which then led to the following message appearing: "Error writing to file: C:\Program Files\Affinity\Photo\d3dcompiler_47.dll. Verify that you have access to that directory." Has anybody encountered this issue? If so, does anybody know how to resolve it? Thanks in advance. P.S. I also had the same problem with trying to update Affinity Designer from 1.9.0 to 1.9.1. The Affinity folder has also seemingly disappeared from my C:\ Drive.

Hi there, I was trying to update Affinity Designer from 1.9.0 to 1.9.1 last night, but I ended up having an error during the installing phase and it came up with an error that said the following: "Error writing to file: C:\Program Files\Affinity\Designer\d3dcompiler_47.dll. Verify that you have access to that directory." Has anybody else encnountered this issue? If so, does anybody know how to solve it? Thanks in advance. P.S. I also tried to update Affinity Photo from 1.9.0 to 1.9.1 and that appeared to have the same issue. The Affinity Folder has seemingly disappeared from my C:\ Drive now.

I haven't used publisher for a little while. I was prompted to update to 1.8. Following instructions I opened up publisher- it prompted me to update to 1.8. This download fine. I ran the update - it got almost to the end then came up with error message update failed. As if that wasn't bad enough, when I clicked on the Designer Icon in Windows I got an error message Item referred to in the shortcut cannot be acessed When I looked at the folder under program file affinity publisher Windows refused to allow me to open it. A right click on properties showed a 0 files content. It seems this 1.8 update has managed to totally trash my installation. What in the world is going on??? I now have to waste time finding the original installation files and start again = Not a happy bunny to say the least!

I have some questions about the program installers: 1. Are .msi installers provided by default for Affinity Education multi-seat licenses? Or would we need to extract the .msi files ourselves from the .exe (as I read elsewhere on this forum) 2. Are there msi switches/options to disable any kind of "send product use information" telemetry features? Actually, the second question is moot if there is no "send usage statistics" feature at all in the program. That just seems unlikely, pretty much every software has telemetry these days. Thanks

Hey all, I'm unable to run any affinity installer to either update my programs or install them from scratch. Every time I try it starts a new process and then immediately terminates it, I have tried running it in compatibility mode, as Administrator and even redownloaded the same files. It's only happening with affinity products, I have been able to install other apps just fine on my machine.

Purchased Affinity Photo (v. 1.5.2.69) and tried to install on my Windows 10 Pro (64-bit) laptop. Nothing happens. If I try to install with administrator rights, I do get a dialog box asking if I want to proceed to allow the application to make changes to the system. I click yes, but again nothing more happens. I've looked through the forums but was unable to locate a solution. To be sure, I've downloaded the application twice, and tried starting my computer, but same result. Any assistance would be appreciated.

Hi there, I would like to request that Affinity Photo and Affinity Designer can silently install without asking for email/product key. Then the email/product key will be asked on first launch. I would probably have payed 200% of the price for a Linux version. But since Serif decided not to go that way, I'm using a virtual machine with Windows. The Windows evaluation reboots every 2 hours and expires after a month. I can automate the provisioning for rebuilding the VM for most things, but not for Affinity products.

I just purchased Affinity - having got thoroughly fed-up with Adobe PS and wanting a replacement. I have a Windows 10 environment and have tried four times to download and install the program but each time it gets hung up on the first "Welcome" screen for the installation wizard (some wizard!). That screen says "computing space requirements". It just sits there inert and eventually I get an "unresponsive" message. What am I missing here? So far the non-performance of Affinity i about on a par with that of Photoshop not opening. HELP!
