  1. I'm trying to speed up my workflow, I know in other applications you can copy/paste/sync adjustment settings in RAW to another image, is this possible in Affinity please and if so how/where do I find the option. Thanks in advance.
  2. Well hi, I’ve got some questions about RAW processing. When I open my raw file in Affinity Photo, I can process it correctly in Persona “Develop”, but after clicking the button “develop”, all changes applying to photo and it compresses to another format, which doesn’t allow to make wide corrections without quality loss. So, on my computer I use Capture One, and there I can work with my raw file any time. I understand that these programs are really different, but I do really need to seriously work with colors and some times apply changes to my already processed photos. And I can normally work with color only in Persona “Photo”, but when I get this possibility, image is already compressed and everything loose its meaning. So, there are some samples. One is raw, processed after opening, another is compressed(?) raw processed after clicking “develop”. And it’s unacceptable for me, that I can’t return to developing a real raw
  3. Does Affinity Photo for iPad/iOS support Sony Pixel Shift ARQ files? Also, does Affinity Photo for Mac and Windows support Sony Pixel Shift ARQ files? If this Compatibility does not currently exist, will support be added in a future release for each platform? If so, is there a Date this ARQ functionality will be made available? Thanks for your time.
  4. I apologize in advance if this topic has been covered, but all I could find was a question as to how a PS .xmp file could be interpreted my Affinity Photo. My question is different, in that I want to know if Affinity Photo is planning on having its own version of the .xmp file, that way all the RAW edits are stored when you leave the Develop Persona. Even without closing down Affinity Photo, if you leave and then reenter the Develop Persona, your RAW edits are still there, but all the sliders have returned to their neutral positions.
  5. Hi, I am working on Affinity to open my RAW images. I normally have a process to edit my pictures, but I tried to make a preset on the "Basic" area in the studio before developing the image and it just is not working. I tried searching for this bug everywhere but I cannot seem to find anything relevant. I found this YouTube video that explains how to do it, however, I am not getting the option to add a preset. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=epN9oIGhL6k (This is the YouTube link). If this is a glitch I would like to know or I just might not know how to add a preset. In any case, please let me know what I can do to solve this issue. Thanks!
  6. Hi All I currently subscribe to Adobe and I'm finding it difficult to let go of Lightroom and Photoshop. I've had a Affinity for a while now and have gone through the Workbook to understand it better. However, I've found it's ability to carry out RAW processing in the Develop Module is lacking a little. If opening a DNG file (Which 99% of my RAW files are) I've found it doesn't render the blacks as well as a native RAW (Such as a CR2 for Canon). plus it doesn't handle the shadows and highlights as well as Adobe in general. More recently I've given an overview of Affinity Photo to our the Camera Club I attend, as I don't think anything comes near it for the price and is a great asset for those not wishing to go the Adobe route. As part of the overview I put a few DNGs together to show the club and came across a strange pink colour cast on a DNG compared to Adobe Camera RAW. See attached. I've also attached the DNG to get your thoughts. Keep up the good work guys! Designer is also superb!!!!! Carl 30_07_2018_Wales-2018-FUJI-XE1_174.DNG
  7. I started using Photo 1.7.0.243 So far my issues / comments are: 1) My Canon 77D is now meant to be included in this release yet RAW photos are not visible as thumbnails when I try to 'open' a folder. Am I missing something? This is the main reason I thought I'd try out the beta version. 2) The hand tool used to increase / decrease the image size when twirling the mouse dial, now it moves the image around. Is this a permanent change? 3) Cropping no longer has presets. Do I need to set these up & if so, how? Basic ones like 2:3 & 1:1 would be useful. I haven't done much yet so might add some more comments later. Thanks Julie.
  8. Hi, all of the raw files from my Canon 2000d are pink or purplish. I have downloaded the latest Affinity software 1.6.5 and wonder if this Canon camera is not yet supported? It's certainly not listed online yet. Anyone help? Many thanks!
  9. When I open a CR2 file it looks washed out and dull compared to the JPEG. I am using a Canon EOS M. Here's an example - CR2 on left and JPEG on right. (I have tried searching for this problem but can't find an answer anywhere.)
  10. Affinity photo is great. But something I really miss when editing raw files is the possibility to adjust tone, saturation and luminance of the picture by colors. This is something that you can easily do on Lightroom and that I´d really like to find here in order to process my raw files completely with Affinity photo. I attach a picture of this feature in Lightroom for ipad. Thanks!
  11. I know there was an issue a bit ago with Sony A7iii RAW files not opening, and Affinity mentioned it was an iOS issue. iOS now has the Sony A7iii on their list of supported files, and rather than just bringing a black screen when I open RAW files from the camera, now it just crashes the app entirely. Anyone else having the same issue?
  12. Is there a way to copy and paste edits to do a batch of RAW files? I want to apply the same edits across a few RAW files taken. I know there is a MACRO function and arent sure if this is what Im looking for.
  13. Hi there, I am absolutely new here and hopefully you are not bored hearing my concerns. My wife‘s got a Macbook Pro 13“, 8GB, SSD, i5, early 2015 and workes with latest version of affinity. When loading more than 7 RAW files, nothing goes on and system hangs up. Due to the fact, that this MacBook is proberly not one of the most perfomance, she bouht an iMac Retina 5K, 27“, i5 3,5GHz, 8GB RAM an 1TB Fusion Drive, late 2017. First perception: Loading pics in RAW is about twice as fast as the MacBook when loading between 1 and 6 pics (5 pics: 20seconds vs 40 seconds). But the disappointment follows immediately: When loading more than 6 pics (i.e. 10 or 14), than the iMac also hangs up. That seems to be the same on MacBook and iMac. So, what is going on? Do we need more RAM, i.e additional 32GB? Need your advice !! I don‘t think, that a much more performance machine would help, i.e i7 am 64GB mit 1TB SSD. That would be the most performance iMac. To pre-answer your questions, why she needs so many pics parallel at the same time: she wants to use it as a picture browser to choose, which of the pics is worth to work on. I think, there must be another way to do so. Is there a picture browser embedded to affinity? So, hope to hear from you soon. Thanks in advance. Stefan
  14. Hello, my RW2 files all have stuck pixels in Affinity Photo. Please incorporate an automatic Pixel Mapping Feature in the future because removing all of these with the clone tool is a pain and makes Affinity unusable when editing multiple photos. No other photo editing app with RAW support that I tried has this problem so there must be a way to incorporate it for sure! Please, I really want to use Affinity for my Photo Editing! Greets, infinabey
  15. Hello. When I make Photos with my 2000d in Raw and put These in Affinity Photo it always get pink. In Canon Digital Photo Professional 4 it dont. Can you please help me?
  16. Hello fellow Affinity iPad users! i just bought the Affinity Photo App for my iPad Pro 9.7“. I already love it! However I encountered one weird problem: There are random tiny dots visible on my imported RAW files (RW2, Panasonic Lumix G7). You can see what I mean in the photo I have uploaded below. Does anyone know where that could come from? As for now it isn‘t that much of a problem as I can remove the dots with the clone tool, however it is quite annoying if you have to edit multiple photos and have to go searching for the little dots first and remove them all first. if you need more information to help me with my problem, just tell me, I‘ll try to be as precise as possible. EDIT: The dots appear only in Affinity, when I import and export the RAWs with another software, there are no dots visible at all. EDIT 2: I have now found out that the dots are so called „Stuck Pixels“. I tried the Pixel Refresh option my camera provides that actually claims to solve stuck Pixel Problems but that didn‘t work - it actually made it worse I believe. I‘m a bit concerned - I have spent my money onAffinity and really want to use it but this makes it pretty much unusable for me... Thank you for every answer! Greets, Sarah (infinabey)
  17. Hi If I develop a raw file in the develop persona including tonal, black and white points, shadows and highlights and sharpening, etc.. then go to the photo persona. Do you then do more adjustments to the same or should I leave things as they are (newbie!) Also, if I have sharpened in Develop, do I sharpen again for print? Or is it just down to personal choice. Just looking for some general guidelines I guess! Thanks....
  18. I tried out the Affinity working with raw images, in my case .orf files. I liked the control over sharpness exposure etc. The problem was when I developed the image to continue work in the regular Affinity workspace, none of the adjustments I made were saved and I had to try to recreate my work. It is annoying as I would like to move to one program work flow, but there must be something I'm doing wrong. Mac desktop, Mojave.
  19. I have just bought and installed Affinity Photo. When I read either Nikon RAW Pictures (NIKON 810 and NIKON Z6) or SONY (SONY RX100) I cannot close anymore Affinity normally. I get the message (translated from german) "At least one file is beeing developed, close this acitivity or Interrupt it before you close the program). I have done nothing on the Pictures.
  20. Does anyone know why I have a black line down the right side of my Raw Photo's taken on my Fuji XT3? There's an uneven black line on all the RAW photos but not on the jpegs. The camera is new but the lens is second hand. A 23mm F2, could it be that? It doesn't appear to be on the shoots I used the 35mm for. Is there a fault processing the image or have I got a setting wrong? Or is it the lens, and why would it be on the Raw but not the Jpeg? Any help would be much appreciated.
  21. Hi, Newbie question here. I'm using the Lens correction in the Develop persona, for a wide angle lens. With the default settings, the corners gets cropped. I would like to retain the corners, even if it means missing pixels in the center of the edges due to the distortion. Where can I disable the automatic cropping? Cheers, Hendrik
  22. I everyone and I Affinity Support Team, I just bought a new Fujifilm XT-100. I can't open the RAF file in Affinity Photo (latest release for MacOs 1.6.7). I had no issues using my old Nikon D3200. No way, I can see only a white vertical stripe. No images. What's the problem? Thank you
  23. When will Affinity Photo be able to read the new Canon CR3 raw format?
  24. Hi, My Affinity-edited photos as seen on others' devices & a calibrated projector have come out EXTREMELY over exposed. They look fine on my monitor. I have calibrated the monitor. Someone noticed the 'profile' dropdown in the Develop persona is set my default to Adobe RGB. I was told that this should always be sRGB. I can't find a way to update the default to one of the sRGB settings permanently. I have been doing my RAW conversion in Cannon's DPP as 1) RAW files don't have thumbnails & look terrible (under exposed & under saturated) in Affinity as my camera (Canon 77D) is not yet recognised by Affinity & 2) DPP has an easy way to 'fix' under & over exposed parts of the image that Affinity can't do as well as being able to view the RAW images. I then do further processing in Affinity. It appears that I will need to go into the Develop persona & change the 'profile' value before developing & exporting the image every time. Is this a common problem? Is the fix correct? Does this relate at all to my camera not being recognised? (also is there an ETA / release when this camera will be included?) I can't provide a screen dump of the images as seen by others as they look fine on my monitor but very embarrassing showing images at my camera club . Any enlightenment would be appreciated . Thanks Julie
  25. As I am already waiting for more than one year I was hoping that with this release I would be able to open my older X3F-Files (made with an Sigma SD15). But .....still not good looking, just compare it yourself: So why do you state in the list of supported cameras that you can work with alle Sigma models? Kind regards Anthony
