  1. I'm trying to install DXO Photolab 5 in AF 2. Followed instructions in AF Help under Using Plugins. I run MacOs Monterey. Here were my steps: 1. Installed NIK plugins in my Applications Folder, then followed instruction to manually install in AF2. 2. The attached 2 screenshots show the results. The third shows changes to color preferences just in case this is the cause. Not sure. 3. I've done something wrong, but can't figure out what. Please advise
  2. To All. Thank you! The apps are installed and all seem to work. A NOTE TO SERIF: I use Affinity Photo almost every day. I perform Mac OS administrative functions MAYBE a few times a year. So, it would be infinitely less frustrating if your installation instructions were a bit more robust, more detailed, even to the point of including an additional screenshot or two (picture's worth a thousand words, many of which are expletives) similar to MikeTO's inclusion above. Your products are peerless, your instructions leave a bit to be desired...
  3. I'm having an installation goat parade! Can you send me a screenshot of this step ... "Then unmount the DMG (by clicking .... delete the DMGs." I am totally flummoxed and am left with disk images on my desktop. Cant remember ever having this much trouble installing software. BTW, after dragging the app icon into my Applications folder,m the icons in the folder display a small arrow on the lower left corner, and disk images appear in the upper right corner of my desktop.
  4. I'm using Mac OS Monterey 12.6. I purchased and downloaded V2 suite. I followed directions and placed the downloaded files in my Applications folder. In the folder they appear as disk images. When click on the image, the double click on the app icon, I'm welcomed to a 30 day trial and taken thru an initial setup sequence...each time I try to bring up the app. Help!
  5. I'm a bit of a novice, so my terminology may not be entirely correct. I'm recently started editing pretty large image files. They are compositions for print that range up to 24"x48" and often contain 12 to 15 adjustment layers layers spread over 2 to 3 pixel layer images. They are NOT videos. I have a 2019 6 core iMac fully updated. I'm experiencing very long process times--the beachball stays on "forever". A tech friend just helped me with a system performance analysis and it appears my CPU is running upwards of 400+% frequently. Memory and disk do not seem to be impacting performance at this point. He recommended I look at more powerful--faster process speed, many more cores--Windows-based work stations from Dell because of their price-performance in comparison to Apple. So, my question(s). 1. Anyone have experience switching from Apple-base Affinity Photo to Windows-based Affinity Photo? Any recommendations, cautions, etc. 2. What configuration Windows-based machine have you found is optimal for heavy CPU-oriented workloads? 3. Is there a optimal balance between CPU and GPU features such as number of cores, memory, etc. Thanks for helping.
  6. I'm photographing still life in a studio using strobe lighting against a photo white background. The objects are vegetables and rocks. When I attempt to extract the the image in the form of a new layer with mask, portions within the image are left out, they are colored pink. No amount of re-brushing includes them in the mask. What am I doing wrong?
  7. Same problem with soft proof. Confirmed ICCs in Library same as under Catalina. I was able to load selected ICCs into Softproof dialod window using AF's File/Import ICC. Also, my Canon Pro 100 print window lacks all paper choices as well as access to colorsync ICCs. Anyone have a solution to get things back to how they worked under Catalina?
  8. I use a Canon Pro 100 printer; just installed latest driver from Canon ( supposed to support Big Sur). I can print, but have very limited options for selecting parameters. AF Print window for this printer does not display color ICC options, eg ColoSync, or media choices such as various papers that displayed in Catalina version of print window. Also, Soft Proof does not seem to access existing Library of ICC profiles, although it allows me to individually add them when I have an image in my workspace.
  9. Thank you, all. Two weeks after Time Machine transfer to new iMac, all is quiet. This this is a rocket....and AP seems to have adjusted well. Very fast, even when running other apps in background.
  10. Ive been using AP for a couple years and this image movement is the single most frustrating shortcoming for me. It's particularly difficult when working on panoramas or when trying to accurately crop. How about a simple toggle button on the sidebar to turn position locking one and off.
  11. I'm upgrading my current mid 2010 iMac to a current model with 6 cores, 16 GB ram, and 2 TB fusion disk. I've cloned my current installed software and apps using Apple TimeMachine and will use the resulting file to transfer apps and data from old to new computers. Before my "Affinity Days" I did this when replacing an HDD on my current Mac, worked very smoothly. I read that the latest version of Affinity Photo--installed on my current machine--supports multiple cores. My question: Once installed on my new Mac by the transfer, will the upgraded version of Affinity Photo recognized the multiple cores and use them? Or, do I need to re-download an upgrade package from Serif? I'd appreciate your comments / advice. Paul
  12. Is there a tutorial covering creating and editing panoramas. The help explanation is OK, but but it doesn't explain details of how the panorama tools work. I'm getting a bit tired of all the trial and error.
