  1. I haven't visited the forums lately and designer has been on a backshelf until data merge was implemented. To clarify, can we use a simple csv file imported to add both text and images, or no?
  2. Calibre, as a Swiss army knife for all things ebook, including editing of epub and conversion to and from mobi, azw/3 or any other format you might want to read. Both solutions require some knowledge of html and css. In general I would follow the do one thing and do it well philosophy though. One way to do it without much knowledge is to open another epub and use it as a template for whatever it is that you're working on.
  3. Still a non-starter for me. It's a shame really, because I like the suite, but I can't justify the cost without data merge. For me this would necessarily include assurance that the software will further allow for merging images into a document based on the cvs file as well, even if at a later date. This is really the only feature keeping me from purchase, and with it a 5 star rating and review on the App Store. I used the beta software and really liked it until I went to merge the long sheet of data in a cvs file. Has Affinity discussed a timetable for this feature at all?
  4. That's funny. I started using it on my old computer, which didn't have a hidpi display. That might be why I haven't noticed until now. I haven't done much with it on this computer.
  5. Thanks for corroborating, Walt. I'm not sure how long it's been like that, I just updated this afternoon and hadn't noticed it before. Cheers, Gary
  6. On Mac OS Mojave 10.14.4 and below on Mac Book Pro 13.3-inch (2560 x 1600), the load splash is tiny. I think this is a hidpi issue somewhere?
  7. They are holding off the initial release to include more features we want (from the update email that just came out). Hopefully, this thread makes clear that this is an indispensable part of what designers want/need to work in Publisher.
  8. Glad to see I'm not the only one who would use it for this purpose explicitly.
  9. With DM for InDesign, you can insert images from cvs along with text fields. I've tried several scripts to accomplish this. None I found, accomplished what I could do in InDesign near as well. Though, I do understand that everyone has different use cases.
  10. mail/data merge. It's not possible for me to use Publisher without it.
  11. This would be great. I'd actually made some attempts at reverse engineering, but my abilities at such things are sub-par at best.
  12. As I am out of my daily allotment of reactions—for liking all the posts in this thread—I will just respond. Thank you for taking the request seriously.
  13. Just wanted to add, that without data merge. Publisher is also a no go for me. I need it for my workflow, which revolves around rapid paper prototyping using .csv files. My work would be abyssmal without it. It's why several other publishing apps failed to capture my interest. As someone who has purchased both other products in your line, I would ask that this be marked as a high priority feature for a final release. I want to be rid of that other company, and their rental policies, once and for all. Th other features are great, but without Data/Mail merge, Publisher is unusable for me.
