    @Nathan Shirley
I took a closer look and compared Adobe Heiti Std to M XiangHe Hei SC Pro from Monotype.
M XiangHe Hei SC Pro is a newer simplified Chinese font which also supports Latin.
That font does not have this problem.
The rightquote, leftquote, etc. are the normal widths.
There are different width versions of singlequote, doublequote, some accents, etc. because those and many others are used for the half width forms and full width forms features.
But the right quote and the left quote are not used for that so it makes no sense that the originals are so wide.
So it appears to be an error in the Adobe fonts which affects using these fonts for Latin text.
M XiangHe Hei SC Pro appears to be really nice. The Latin text is Neue Frutiger.
10 weights, lots of features - may be a good alternative for dual language use.

Hi, When do you plan to release Affinity Publisher? Last Beta is great and I can't stand InDesign anymore! Please hurry up...

Nathan Shirley got a reaction from AndreasM in Batch develop raw images with macro?
Slow and inflexible or not, I'd like it either way. Of course if they're able to make the process more efficient all the better.
    What's the alternative you suggest?

In my document all images were embedded by default.
Then I changed all images from embedded to being linked.
However, the file size of my afpub file remained unchanged (300MB), although all images are now listed as linked.
It seems that they are still embedded.

Any chance for this? I'd really prefer to do all of my "developing" in well, the Develop persona

    Hi there,
Sorry if I'm posing in the wrong place, I was directed here by the Serif Twitter account so hopefully not.
I'm a photographer/Filmmaker and spend quite a lot of my time with time-lapse photography. Obviously when dealing with high quality time-lapse, raw files need to be edited in a batch job before they're rendered into a video. Usually I do this with keyframes and software which will blend the edits between photos to create a smooth transition.
I am also a student so I bought Affinity photo after accepting defeat over Adobe's subscription plan, never looked back!!! Except for this feature.
I was wondering if I could suggest a feature that would do just this then? A development, to allow keyframes/key-images to be selected, edited and then a transition between them automatically applied. I know that this requires Lightroom and another program called LRtimelapse usually, so I can guarantee if you incorporated the workflow of both, you could gain some very loyal time-lapse photogs.
    Thanks a bunch!

For all who do not understand the point of the Develop Persona, I urge you to view
You will notice that in the Develop Persona the moderator concentrates on spreading the tones across the histogram without losing any details in the highlights and the shadows, and states that he will do more detailed work with tone curves in the Photo Persona.
Basically, in the Develop Persona I try to extract as much detail out of the RAW as possible.  It's in the Photo Persona that I then produce an image for a particular purpose.  If I want an image to print, I'll start with a Soft Proof adjustment layer in which I select a profile for my printer and paper and turn on gamut checking.  All the other adjustment layers will go underneath it, e.g., for adjusting tone, exposure, contrast, brightness, etc.  This allows me to refrain from any adjustments that will produce colors that I will have difficulty printing.  I might also prefer subtlety to dramatic impact, especially if I'm producing a large print.  If, on the other hand, I want to produce an image for a web page, or for sharing, I might want something more dramatic and less subtle than for printing, something with much more contrast, saturated colors, etc.
What I produce in the Develop Persona is a good starting point for both, and probably for anything else I might want to produce in the future.

Nathan Shirley reacted to Baptiste in Layer alignment (noise reduction)
    Hi' all !

I'm trying to align photos in order to procced to a noise reduction. However, if I use the classic stacking method (File -> Open stack) the alignement is made on the foreground (or maybe the part of the image is the easiest to align ?) and I don't want to !

My photos are milky way photos. In order to reduce noise in the sky I would like to align multiple photo of the milky way on the stars and not on the foreground (moutains, people, ...).

Is it possible to have a feature like this ? Align layers once we have applied a mask ?

Thank you for your answer :)

Yes but then, it's not possible to auto-align items of this stack. I must export each layers, and open them again in order to auto-align them... A perfect feature would be to allow the auto-alignment from a stack already imported.
