  1. Hello, This is a known issue (refer to the release notes for the beta, under "Macros"). Apparently it will be fixed soon. Regards, Travis
  2. Hi Alex, Try exporting to .jpg directly from File>>Export (not using the Export Persona). The resulting file is missing the background elements. What is the explanation for this?
  3. Hello Misc33, I rasterized the "Stripy background" group (right click on it in layer palette and select 'rasterize') and the image exported to a jpeg fine (notice the text is off, as I didn't have the font you used and it needed to be substituted). I suspect this is a bug though, and perhaps has something to do with the fact that the "stripy background" layers are larger than (and not fully contained by) the artboard?
  4. Hello, Nope, there is definitely something buggy here. Just tried this on my Mac Mini 2012, and it crashes the program. You have to drag the control handle of the Live Perspective past the mid-point/dividing line. See attached video. Regards, Travis Live_Perspective_Crash_2.zip
  5. I simply created a new image, added a cog, then applied live perspective to it. After 20-30 seconds of modifying the grid (which is anything but fluid--the perspective tool in the toolbox works perfectly fluidly...), the app crashes. Have a look at the video I've attached. I suspect it is related to my underpowered MacBook Air. Will give it a try on my 2012 Mac Mini tomorrow. Live_Perspective_Crash.zip
  6. Nope, just tried-- no problem using the Perspective Tool! But the Live Perspective crashes the app every time...
  7. Hello, In Affinity Photo 1.4.2 beta 3, trying to use the Live Perspective Layer on pretty much any object (shape or pixel layer) crashes the program (drag the grid control handles around a lot--on my low-strength MacBook Air 2010, the program crashes every time). Regards, Travis
  8. Actually, I still think there is something buggy here. The destructive perspective function behaves normally. When using the Live Perspective Filter and playing around with the blend modes in the filter dialogue, the layer seems to interact with its own alpha channel (see the video). This may well be intended behaviour, but seems odd to me. But notice how changing the blend mode in the filter dialogue causes the blend mode to change in the layer panel, but changing the blend mode in the layer panel does not cause a corresponding change in the filter dialogue. Regards, Travis Live Perspective Filter.zip
  9. When you apply a Live Perspective Filter to a Layer, whatever Blend Mode you have selected is ignored and the Blend Mode reverts to Normal.
  10. I get the same as Harald regarding the transparency tool (no crash, but tool doesn't work). Maybe this was just for the sake of stability in this release, and a real, functional fix (i.e., one in which the transparency works) will come in one of the next betas? Travis
  11. Hello Callum, I held down Ctrl and reset everything, and this instability still occurs. I made a screen shot for you--with the newest beta, it happens less often than before, but it still happens. This time it happened after I paused a while on the Inpainting Fill Option, then kept selecting. The problem is somehow related to the Inpainting Option. Have a look at the video--after the instability occurs, I can't apply a Fill (or it applies as white), I can no longer change the color in the color window, etc. I can still move the cursor, but the app is effectively dead and I have to restart. 12. Ok, thanks MEB. Though I was actually talking about the Merge command at the top right of the Levels Adjustment Dialogue (those this may amount to the same thing as what you just said regarding the Merge Visible/Merge Selected on the Layer Palette).
  13. Hello, Open the attached Affinity Photo (current customer beta) file and double click on the Levels Adjustment icon in the layers palette (in order to edit the adjustment). Click on Merge. Notice how the drop shadow effect is duplicated. Is this expected behaviour? Is this a bug? Regards, Travis Edit: I've now added the attachment. Merge_Levels_Shadow.zip
  14. Hello, I'm stilling running into the instability problem, and I think I figured out the trigger: you have to cycle as quickly as possible through the fill options, without giving the program time to preview each of them. 1. create a new default document 2. add a new pixel layer 3. make a rectangular selection on the document 4. click edit>>Fill 5. change to a custom color of your choice 6. now quickly cycle through the other fill options (primary colour, secondary colour, inpainting, history), without allowing the program enough time to give a preview The program becomes instable/no longer reacts. I can select other tools, but they no longer work (i.e., I can select the paintbrush, but can't paint with it). I have to force quit the program. I don't have this problem if I wait 10 second after clicking on each option before I click on the next one. This apparently gives the program enough time to process the preview. I think the problem is mainly related to the time it takes the program to preview the inpainting and history fills--clicking quickly to another fill option without allowing the program to finish its preview causes the instability. Note that I'm using a 2010 Macbook Air, so it's possible that with a beefier Mac, the preview happens nearly instantaneously and the instability won't manifest itself. Hope this helps to identify and fix the problem--I keep running into it (and once have lost work!). I have to remember to cycle slowly through the fill options.
  15. Yes, I guess it could default to the base/background layer, but then that would probably annoy anybody who wants to apply the effect to a different layer. As it is, I guess they decided that it is best to make the user choose which layer he/she wants to modify. Anyways, hope this solved the problem in your case. Best, Travis
  16. Hello Pentaxian, This threw me for a loop a few times as well. After adding an adjustment layer, you have to make sure to select the original layer before entering the liquefy persona. Otherwise, you are simply modifying the adjustment layer (and thus seeing no apparent result). Regards, Travis
  17. hello, I have seen similar things happen when using the selection tool and moving selections. I posted a bug report--it has been confirmed and will be fixed. Affinity Photo seems to suffer from a screen re-draw problem--usually it affects the Image Navigator palette, but sometime also the actual image. If you back up in the history palette, then re-do the steps, crazy things start to happen with the image redraw. Might this be related to your problem?
  18. Hello All, Just downloaded and started using the Photo 1.1.2.23633 Beta. I have a couple of suggestions regarding the zoom slider. 1. The zoom slider on the toolbar at the top of the screen has notches above it, but the position of the notches seems counterintuitive to me. Shouldn't the distance between the notches in some way be proportional to the amount of zoom level represented? As it is, it looks like this: - - - - - - - - - 10 50 75 80 90 100 500 it would make more sense if it looked something like this: - - - - - - - - 10 50 75 100 200 300 400 500 My diagrams above aren't perfect, but you get the idea. 2. Could you introduce the - and + buttons on the Navigator for the Zoom onto the toolbar at the top of the screen? They are quite handy for changing the zoom in predefined increments! Thanks! Travis
