When using the search box in the macros "Library" panel, it often does not return any results despite containing a macro of that name.
The issue is due to the search box being case-sensitive.  However, I can't think of a scenario where this would be beneficial to the user, therefore it's likely that this is something that has just been overlooked.  IMO the search box should not be case-sensitive by default, as it will trip users up.
Looking at other search boxes in Affinity Photo, the search box in the "Assets" panel for example is not case-sensitive and therefore works in a more user-friendly way.  In addition, the search box in the "Swatches" panel is also not case-sensitive.  Therefore, I would imagine it's not actually intended behaviour in the "Library" panel search box either.
As a side note, I also don't see it as beneficial to have it as the default behaviour in the layer "States" panel either (Layer name is…) – although that search box is a bit different to the others as it also gives the option to use RegEx as well.

Could you please make the search box in the library panel case-insensitive? Searching for "col" turns up nothing, but "Col" does, for instance.

I've just started working Affinity Photo into my workflow, and had a play with the image stacking with some shots of the moon, the auto align did a fine job and the noise was cleared up a treat. However a trial with some Milkyway shot didn't work so well.
So my thoughts are a star stacking tweak to the stacking/HDR feature. Something geared to stack astronomical shots. This could make Affinity a one stop program for those of us who do our photography at night.

I dislike it, like you do. You might find just fine minimizing the aero effects (besides it triggers sounds on, etc, all can be disabled.) . In my signature there's a link with advice for that...

First, the best thing to do is click on the link Sean P just posted. After that, if you find Aero features distracting, tho, you can reduce them to a minimum. I have a tutorial linked in my signature about it, and indeed, you can even reduce it more than I explain there, as I did later. I had it off before beta testing Affinity (was never said it was only for beta) but since I found my way to have a non obtrusive Aero, visually and in effects, etc, I just left it so (reduced to a minimum),  not much of a real difference so, if well configured (not just activating the default Aero and leaving it like that ! )

Hey & thx for the Link! Finally I found a simple solution there....

It is possible to run Affinity without the Win AERO-Dsign you just have to start it with an Option:
"C:\Program Files\Affinity\Affinity Photo\Photo.exe" "--no-dwm-warning"

BTW: From my viewpoint it is stupid not to give users this option in a Dialog when installing.
Many users will just give up and thats a pitty...
With a fast mashine Affinity is runing fine - even without the AERO Crap...

Just downloaded the Demo, just wantet to know why I need to switch to an Aero desktop? This means changing my whole worspace...
I'd like to keep my oldschool Win2000 lookalike Desktop. Is there a possibility to get Affinity running without the Aero Desktop?
